Children's Photography

We specialize in children's photography and take pictures of infant and newborn babies and have 3 and 4 session custom baby plans. The most common baby plan is 3 month baby portraits, 6 month baby portraits and 12 month baby portraits however we can also configure a plan for 5 month baby portraits, 9 month baby portraits and 12 month baby portraits. Did I mention that Shanks Photograpy loves babies? We love everything about photographing babies and especially like photographing them with their mommies or should I say mommy's? We like making a newborn or infant session into a family affair and including a brother and sister and of course dad! We have been told that our newborn images have the look of an Anne Geddes portrait. We do like to give the parents a unique artistic portrait when they are interested in that type of portrait. We also are a member of the NILMDTL organization and provide parents of babies taken off life support with pictures of their little one in the form of a CD and CD slideshow to remember their life. You can check for yourself on our portrait site and see samples of our newborn photography. Babies grow up to be children and we like to have fun with children.

Fairy Portraits

We especially like to make beautiful artistic fairy portraits from our fairy sessions. Girls age 3 to 8 are the best age to attend our fairy sessions. These sessions are make believe sessions where we get the little girls to pretend they see fairies flying around our studio. We use sugar as our pretend fairy dust. Later during our post processing of the image we artistically add the fairies, fairy dust and other enhancements that turn the portrait into a piece of art for your home. The fairy portraits are a keepsake for generations.

Themed Portraiture

We also do other themed portraiture for both girls and boys. Little toddler boys love to play at being a construction worker, a cowboy, a super hero, fireman and we are continually planning different boy session themes. For the girls we have a nice collection of tutu's and pettiskirts that we use on any session and we even have specials that call for tutu's and pettiskirts.

Stock Photographer

We are one of the preferred photographers that photograph for the Georgia Family Magazine. We regularly photograph the cover kid contest winners for the magazines covers and travel in the middle Georgia area to photograph editorial assignments. We also do model shoots and shoot images for stock photography. As a matter of fact, if we think your session images will work for stock photography we will ask you to sign a model release and give you a cd of the images we submit for stock.

Cancer Calendar

As a service to our community and to help raise money for cancer research and awareness we work on a project every year and photograph cancer survivors to use their pictures in a calendar along with their stories. The survivors we've photographed in the past have been primarily breast cancer survivors but in the future we will be photographing cancer survivors with all differerent kinds of cancer. In 2010 the majority of the 2011 Surviving Cancer calendar survivors photographed were young moms with breast cancer.

Portrait Products

Some of the products we carry for portrait photography are 8x10 prints, 5x7 prints, wallets, wall portraits, gallery wraps, stand outs, cards, announcements, books, albums, postcard announcements, folded cards, folded announcements each containing multiple poses. We are gifted in the art of collages and will make a custom collage using our graphic design experience and skill.

Wedding Photography

Alot of these same products are available for our wedding photography clients as well. We offer wedding packages with albums, wedding packages with engagement sessions. Our wedding style is more photojournalistic in nature. We love capturing your day without a lot of boring posing. The groups we do photograph for your wedding are relaxed and casual.
